for many of us, the 'side effects' of statins are permanent. (I've been off Lipitor now for more than 4 years. What you will discover is that the liver normally produces CoQ10 but part of what Statins stop is the liver's ability to PRODUCE Coq10 which the body uses to turn the air in your bloodstream (and brain) into ATP. I now take a gram a day (very expensive and NOT covered by insurances). Several years ago the Manufacturer's of Zocor and Lipitor quietly patented an admixture of their statin AND Coq10 and then put it on the shelf for the day they would sell it. They didn't want to advertise that their products would stop the body from making it's own Coq10.
