I have been on byetta for 1 1/2 years & can see better driving down the road than my daughter or housband who wear contacts. I have thought that I don't need my glasses for distance.
I know you are talking about the retinopathy but I swear my vision has impoved.

Are they any significant improvemesst documented when it comes to Diabetic Neuropathy with patients on Byetta?
Also, is there anything I can do about the side effects of Byetta? I had no problems on the 5 mcg, but since I switched to 10 mcg about 3 months ago, I get a headache and queasy stomach and feel very tired after I take it. I'm happy with the results that I am getting as far as improvement in blood sugars, but very frustrated because of the side effects!

I wonder if anyone else has this Byetta problem. I have been waking up in the middle of the night with horrible acid in my stomach and twice was awakened with almost projectile vomiting of bile and byetta which came up and went back down. Too nasty for words. I had a sample Byetta 5 pen and switched back to that for a while and the problem went improved and I had better readings...than on this Byetta 10.
Also I tried the Byetta 5 before all three meals. I will ask the CDE for the 5 but, I doubt the insurance will cover the three times a day usage.
