So what is your official position on Byetta versus Januvia?
These are two different medications that are in different classes, have entirely different actions on the islets of Langerhans, and have completely different side effects. I use them in different situations and the recent information has not changed the way I use them in any way.
30 cases out of 700,000 patients?
The odds of acute pancreatits in a heathy population are 15.9 per 100,000. So out of 700,000 patients, you would expect to see 111.3 cases of acute pancreatits.
And, Diabetic patients are at greater risk than heathy people.
It is no issue at all!
