I found that DHEA raised my testosterone level. The greater the DHEA dose, the greater my testosterone level (measured by saliva test). However, I found no advantage in having the testosterone level of a much younger man. Maybe raising it to the norm for one's age is more appropriate.

Derek- It all depends on what you are measuring. If your test was looking at Total Testosterone and not Free Testosterone then this may be the reason you were not getting much symptom relief. Free Testosterone is what will make you feel better!!! Most of Total T is bound to SBGH and can not be used. Therefore, it is more important to get a Free T and Bio-available T for assessment. Isn't that right Dr. Jo?

Correct. However if you are using the hormone formerly known as Vitamin D, the free component of all hormones is increased.

Testim and Androgel are used at least initially. Results depend on your personal situation.
