Previously this was called the Metabolic Syndrome as first noted in the modern era by Gerald Reavan, MD of Stanford, California. As more has been learned about it, there seems to be such a large amount of cardiovascular disease caused by it that the Cardiovascular specialists have taken a great interest and undertaken great amounts of research in the field. Now we even have a Journal that sorts out all the conflicting aspects of the Syndrome.

It was initially felt to be a “prediabetes” state. With time it was realized that diabetes began 10 years before abnormal glucose occurred and a great number of people got their heart attack or stroke before the glucose was elevated. That is not an acceptable situation and therefore new technology has been developed to try to find out how this disorder can be picked up earlier.
I knew in1968 that small vessel disease or inelastic vascular disease was the hallmark of diabetes. With a biopsy of the muscles, a diagnosis of diabetes could be made 20 years prior to glucose becoming abnormal. That was true of diabetes 1 as well as 2 which made all the doctors go crazy.
But when I had the ability to measure small vessel elasticity with modern wave form analysis it all became very clear. The Cardiometabolic Syndrome is the source of all diabetes and cardiovascular problems. We can detect the early presence and begin treatment long before any symptoms or signs are present.
Natural ingredients are used, technology is available to monitor success, and genetic expression of other triggers can be measured. Strategic health lives!
Early it was found that Alzheimer’s disease is the third major arm of the Cardiometabolic syndrome. We don’t see as many people with this “preAlzheimers” because no one wants to even think about it coming their way. This is why there is the forth Annual Cardiometabolic Health Congress in October in Boston this year. This is why a total of 17 different subspecialties in Medicine and Surgery will be represented at the meeting. This is why the attendance at this conference has tripled each year. Doctors don’t go to this conference to learn new things; we go to understand new things.
This is why I give away our waveform analysis of blood pressure to every new patient. My device is a $64,000 model invented in 1980. This is the device that set the standards for all the above. But now, like the PC is dropping in cost, this technology is too. We have successfully “democratized” these testing systems to a point were anyone in any financial situation can incorporate this “strategic health” into their life.
The new devices like the B Pro, does even more with every bit the accuracy as my old machine. It does more, in fact, that as yet is not clear if it needs a response to the new data. It’s wonderful to grapple with these new technologies for good health because we aren’t losing the battle anymore. I received the “Father of the Year” award from the American Diabetes Association for virtually rolling back the ravages of diabetes by not needing admission for almost all of my patients with diabetes. You are getting better all the time and you know how to sustain it.
I’ll continue to help you through all these changes we both need to understand. You know I am going to be healthy through 126 years of age and you will be at my side. This really is our time.
