Vitamin D3

Dr. Joe's E-News videos are in FLV format. Click here for more information.

There was some confusion by the (old) title. When I speak of Vitamin D, I mean D3.

Joe You must give better and documented evidence for the effects and usfulness of these tremendous dosesof Vit D. I perscribe large doses and raise low levels to normal levels then maintain themt here with modest doses. George S Redwood City

Yeah, that confused me too. I thought you were always recommending Vitamin D3?

Great change of format, I have wanted in the past to be able to pause and replay sections I wanted to hear again, now I can.

Hi Joe,

Are you recommending D1 or D3, and in a daily amount of 5,000 mg to 10,000 mg indefinitely?

Also, how long should you take L-Arginine to help with any circulatory issues, and in what amount?

I just wanted to say that I was diagnosed with low Vit D in April or so. My endo (I have Hashi's) prescribed 50K IU a day for a week, then once a week after that. Unfortunately, I am still breastfeeding my baby (now 10mos) and whenever I take the mega doses of Vit D he screams all night. Any thoughts on this side effect?

This is not harming the child in fact this is helping growth and development.
This is one reason why I like the spray D3 I developed; you can adjust the dose downward and not lose any of the help the D is giving your thyroid.

Thanks,

I was talking 50,000 IU of vitamin D3, recommended by one of your representatives for your Cardiolite product. I took it for about 1 year, but stopped about 6 months ago when I ran out. I restarted using calcium w vitamin D3 in it. I just had a vitamin D blood test done, and it came back as 137. My doctor is concerned about the high level. When I told her that I had been taking 50000 units of D3, she wondered why I was taking so much. I am now not taking any and have to have a repeat level done in 3 weeks. How high should a vitamin D blood test be before it is considered not good? I would appreciate you comment on this, as I thought is was a great idea, but now I am very concerned. thanks you
