the response on Vitamin D is not surprising. In putting their report together the Institute of Medicine (IOM) commissioned the Academy of Sciences report on the Vitamin D research which was published and public last year.
It basically ruled out all the geopgrahical studies and all the non RCT leaving little if any supportive research.
The IOM was encouraging more Vitamin D research in its press conference. It was saying that Vitamin D was promising just not adequately proven scientifically in other conditions than bone density.
